5 C Dance Company

Jaclyn founded the 5 C Dance Company to bring the Claremont Colleges a dance team with a blend of artistry and technical skills. Jaclyn has danced since she was 2 years old and competed throughout the United States on a champion dance team. She has won 1st-Overall in Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and Tap categories as a soloist, duet, and small groups. Jaclyn was ranked in the top twenty dancers in America at the Starpower National Dance Competition in Las Vegas and has performed with JUMP on Broadway. She is a senior at CMC and is an Environment, Economics, Politics (EEP) major.

Kelsey is a senior biology major, dance minor at Scripps College. She has trained in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Modern at Backstage Dance Studio in Factoria, Washington. Kelsey joined the 5 C Dance Company in her freshman year; she was part of the original dance team.

	Lauren is a senior at Pitzer and is double majoring in media studies and legal studies. She is from the SF Bay Area and has studied ballet and modern. She enjoys filmmaking, writing, dancing, shopping, and the outdoors. Lauren enjoys cutting music for 5CDC, being with friends and family, and making movies. She likes meeting new people and always has time for fun.

Taryn is a sophomore at Scripps. She is originally from Bellevue, WA and
plans on double majoring in Mathematics and Economics. Taryn has been
dancing for 14 years and competed with the Backstage Dance Studio
Competition Team for 8 years. She has participated in competitions and
conventions in Canada, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Wisconsin, and New York throughout the years and has a passion for contemporary dancing in particular. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, napping, and playing Nintendo 64.

Taryn Ohashi

Maya danced on her high school's high kick and jazz funk team freshman to senior year. She go-go danced over the summer last year. She started taking Ballet classes last year at Pomona and was in a contemporary piece for a senior dance project. She was on the 5C Hip Hop Team and 5CDC last year. She is a sophomore at Pomona but she's living at Pitzer. She is double majoring in Anthropology and Environmental Policy and minoring in Spanish.

Maya Horgan

Mary is a Scripps sophomore, and she is double majoring in Dance and Writing for Social Change. Mary is excited to be dancing with the 5C Dance Company for her second year and loves the camaraderie, enthusiasm, and passion for dance that the team encourages. She hopes to one day become a Radio City Rockette or found her own non-profit organization... or, perferably, both!
	Mary Callahan

	Annie is a freshman at Pomona College and is a possible astrophysics major. She has been dancing for 12 years and taken all types of dance such as: tap, ballet, jazz, danceline, lyrical, novelty, hip hop, and pointe. She was on the both the competitive and performance dance teams at her high school as well as an independent competition dance team.
Annie Hedlund

Madsi is from New York City and junior Psychology major at Scripps College. She transferred to Scripps this fall, and is pumped to be part of the 5C Dance Company. She began dancing at the age of three at Ballet Academy East and then trained at The Ailey School. She spent her summers dancing at Belvoir Terrace in Lenox, MA and performed at Jacob's Pillow. She has also performed with the Pomfret Dance Company in Trinidad and Tobago.

Madeleine Saxe

Trisha is a sophomore at Claremont Mckenna College. Although she continues to have a fondness for all the natural sciences, she is most likely majoring in biology. Trisha was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She danced with Ballet Hawaii for thirteen years and with Central YMCA Dance located in Ala Moana for three years. She is very excited to be dancing with the 5C Dance Company for the first time this year.

Trisha Chong

Melinda is a freshman at Pitzer College. She is planning on double majoring in Math and Environmental Science. She's from Point Reyes Station in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although she has had minimal dance training, she still loves dancing and can't wait to learn more this upcoming year!
	Melinda Borello

Celina Hayashi is a first-year at Scripps and is majoring in Psychology and
Pre-Med and minoring in Dance. She has been dancing with the Maui Academy of Performing Arts since the age of 4 and with the University of Hawaii at Manoa Dance Program. She loves Hip-Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Hula. She was Miss Outstanding Teen of Hawaii 2007 and Miss Hawaii Filipina 2009 where she also won "Best in Talent" for her self-choreographed Contemporary piece.

Celina Hayashi

XL is a freshman at Pitzer. Her hometown is Los Gatos, CA, and she plans to be an art major. She has been dancing for two years, and is primarily trained in ballet and jazz. Her background is in acrobatic gymnastics, which she competed in for 7 years until she got 2nd place at Worlds.
	Xiau Ling

	Marina is a freshman at Claremont McKenna College. She is an Open level International Latin and Standard ballroom dancer, trained at Impulse Ballroom in Bellevue, WA. She hopes to dual major PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) with Econ-Accounting. In her spare time, she enjoys going to concerts, talking philosophy, and avoiding late-night CMC sprinklers.
Marina Giloi

Hillary is a freshman at CMC and is majoring in International Relations. She
is from Bellevue, WA where she competed with Backstage Dance Studio for five years in Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. She loves taking advantage of all that Camp Claremont has to offer, and also enjoys photography, spending time with friends, and Jersey Shore (Team Snooki). She's beyond excited about being a member of 5CDC and is looking forward to rest of the year!

Hillary Lundberg

	Sarah is studying at Pitzer this semester as an exchange student from South Africa. She is a sophmore, majoring in English and Media. Sarah trained in Ballet and, last year danced with an African Contemporary based company (much like 5CDC) at her university in SA. She enjoys acting and anything that involves a stage and an audience, she is very excited to perform as a team member of 5CDC!
Sarah Colepeper

Claudia is a first-year at Pomona College from Nashville, TN, with an
intended double major of Film Studies and Anthropology. She began dancing at age 7 with the Nashville Irish Step dancers and danced with them for 6 years before taking a brief break from dance. She continued her training in high school in tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and hip-hop through the Harpeth Hall School's Dance Company. This is her first semester with the 5CDC, and she looks forward to continued involvement!

Claudia Crook

	Catherine is a freshman at Pomona and is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. She danced with the Midwest Youth Dance Theatre for eight years, where studied ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, tap, musical theatre, and modern. Since arriving at Pomona, she has also started ballroom dancing, and is a member of the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company. She is very excited to be a member of 5CDC!
