Jaclyn D'Arcy Jaclyn founded the 5 C Dance Company to bring the Claremont Colleges a dance team with a blend of artistry and technical skills. Jaclyn has danced since she was 2 years old and competed throughout the United States on a champion dance team.  She has won 1st-Overall in Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and Tap categories as a soloist, duet, and small groups. Jaclyn was ranked in the top twenty dancers in America at the Starpower National Dance Competition in Las Vegas and has performed with JUMP on Broadway. She is a senior at CMC and is an Environment, Economics, Politics (EEP) major.

Kelsey graduated in 2011 with a degree in biology, minor in dance from Scripps College.  She trained in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Modern at Backstage Dance Studio in Factoria, Washington.  Kelsey joined the 5 C Dance Company in her freshman year; she was part of the original dance team.

Lauren James Lauren graduated from Pitzer in 2011 with a double major in media studies and legal studies. She was from the SF Bay Area and studied ballet and modern. She enjoyed filmmaking, writing, dancing, shopping, and the outdoors. Lauren enjoyed cutting music for 5CDC, being with friends and family, and making movies. She liked meeting new people and always had time for fun.

Taryn is a junior Economics an dMathematics double major at Scripps College. She is originally from Bellevue, Washington and ha sbeen dancing for 15 years. Trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical and hip hop, Taryn competed with the Backstage Dance Studio Competition Team for 8 years. She has placed in local, regional, and national competitions, been a teacher's assistant at Rainbow Dance Connection's national competition and convention, and danced in Nickelodeon star Ashley Argota's music video. When not studying or dancing, Taryn can be found sleeping no matter the hour of the day.

Hillary Lundberg

Hillary is a sophomore Government and Spanish dual major at Claremont McKenna College. Originally from Bellevue, Washington, she has been dancing for 14 years and competed with Backstage Dance Studio Competition Team for 5 years, competing locally, regiounally, and nationally in contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, and modern. Hillary loves all things Seattle and can often be found talking about the Washington Huskies to anyone who will listen. After an unfortunate mishap with four-inch heels, a weak ankle, and a Panamanian nightclub over spring break, Hillary is on stage only in spirit tonight.

Maya ('13) is majoring in Environmental Policy/double minoring in English and Economics at Pomona College. She has always loved to dance, but only began formally training in 2005 when on a whim, she auditioned for her school's jazz-funk/high kick dance team, thus leading to 4 years of competitive dance. Since college, she's danced with REVERB and performed in several senior thesis pieces. Out of school, she has performedas an independent dancer at home in Minnesota, and also during her visits to NYC. This semester, she is choreographing and performing two dances in the Queer Burlesque Show. Maya Horgan

Annie Hedlunc Annie is a sophomore at Pomona College. She is from Minnetonka, Minnesota an di smajoring in astrophysics. She has been dancing for 13 years on both competitive and performance dance teams, as well as a studio. She has been trained in tap, ballet, jazz, danceline, lyrical, pointed, hip hop, and novelty, though her favorite is high kick. This is her second year on the 5C Dance Company, and she plans to continue for the rest of her college career.

Catherine is a sophomore Media Studies major at Pomona College. She danced with the Midwest Youth Dance Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, for eight years, where she studied ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, tap, musical theatre, and modern. She also dances Interantional Latin and International Standard ballroom with the ballroom dance team.

Celina Hayashi Celina is a sophomore at Scripps and is majoring in Human Biology and minoring in Dance. She has been dancing with the Maui Academy of Performing Arts since the age of 4 and with the University of Hawaii at Manoa Dance Program. She loves hip-hop, ballet, jazz, modern, and hula. She was Miss Outstanding Teen of Hawaii 2007 and Miss Hawaii Filipina 2009 where she also won "Best in Talent" for her self-choreographed contemporary piece.

XL is a sophomore at Pitzer. Her hometown is Los Gatos, CA, and she plans to major in art and minor in anthropology. She has been dancing for three years, and is primarily trained in ballet and jazz. Her background is in acrobatic gymnastics, which she competed in for 7 years until she got 2nd place at the World Championships.

Aly is a freshman International Relations major at Claremont McKenna College. She has been training in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance at Southland Ballet since the age of 6. Aly has beeen a company member of SBA's professional counterpart, Festival Ballet Theatre, for several years, and has performed in pieces choreographed by individuals including, among others, Director of the Kirov Ballet Yuri Fateyev. In addition to obsessing over cats, she enjoys drawing, running, and eating Asian food.

Diarra is a sophomore at Scripps College, She is thinking of majoring in psychology and minoring in French. She has not specialied in any particular genre of dance for the most of her life but has taken many difference types. These include jazz, hip hop, modern, ballet, ballroom, and social dancing. she is currently on Claremont Colleges Ballroomm Dance Company as well as 5CDC.

Leslie is a junior Engineering major at Harvey Mudd College. She has danced for fifteen years and was trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe. She danced at Carousel Dance Studio in West Hills, CA and was on their competing company for 5 years. Being from Harvey Mudd, she had not heard of 5CDC until this semester but was super excited to come to her first rehearsal in February. She joined the next day! Yay!

Emma is a sophomore at Scripps College. Born and raised in Middletown, CT, she absolutely loves the California warmth and sunshine. She is majoring in biochemistry and plans to attend medical school for internal medicine-pediatrics. Emma began dancing at the age of 5, then switched to competitive cheerleading in 7th grade, winning grand and national titles with Celebrity Cheer Allstars throughout the east coast. In addition to dance, Emma loves taking roadtrips complete with blasting music, belting along and getting lost.

Julie Shrieve is a freshman at Pomona College from Salt Lake City, Utah. She had not decided on a major but is interested in Neuroscience and French and is on the pre-med track. She has been dancing since the age of 4 and is trained mostly in ballet and modern from Ballet West Academy and her high school dance company. She also enjoys camping, napping, and enjoying the SoCal sunshine!

Lauren is a freshman at Claremont McKenna College from Boston, Massachusetts. She is a Spanish and Economics dual major with a financial sequence. She danced on her high school's dance team her freshman year but decided to focus on figure skating. She has been skating since age 3 and she and her team went on to win the Bronze medal at the National Championships 3 years ina row. She competed internationally for three years in France, Austria, and Germany. This is her first year on the 5C Dance Company!
